So what did you think of that list! Do you suppose you can benefit your health in so many ways? We need Omega-3 in our daily lives, flax seed is the richest source of Omega -3. Our body needs it to survive. Our bodies can not manufacture Omega-3, it looks outside for sources. Many health foods we consume , like broccoli, have Omega- 3. The bad news is that it takes eaing pounds instead of just a few ounces to get a healthy dose of Omega-3 in our diet.

Don't Panic! Our flax seed offers us 48% of its total fat content as Omega-3 fatty acids. Fish oil, has a good source of Omega-3 but you will have to eat a 1 pound , as for flax seed 1/4 cup is all you need. You also can't blend it with fish, like you can with baked products , yogurt, cereal and so on.

How Do I Eat Flax Seed?

Great Question! The best to consume flax seed is by grinding the seed right before you consume it. You can use a coffee bean grinder , if you have one, or I have them on this website also. Make sure and grind it for about 30-45 seconds. Then just spinkle it or mix with whatever food of choice. Here are a few examples, shakes, sport drinks, yogurt and cereal. Some people also like to mix with burgers, salads, soups etc.

Another option, if you don't have time to grind your own. We have available the cold milled form. It is ready to go in sprinkle form. However, over time the flax seed starts to lose some of its Omega-3 . To get the most from you flax seed consume it while it is fresh. The Omega-3 can last 2-3 years in the seed form. Store the ground seed in a sealed container in the refrigerator or freezer. You will alwasy have the benefit though of the fiber that the seed offers you.
